29 WAYS TO STAY CREATIVE from TO-FU on Vimeo.

37 Things You Should Never Apologize For and Why- BY etiquette-inc

1. Never apologize for acting on your instincts.
Listening to your body then taking action on what you hear
is the hallmark of heroic people.
2. Never apologize for all the tears you’ve cried.
Crying cleanses the soul. Shoot for once a month.
Even if it’s just a brief mist at a tender moment in a sad movie.
3. Never apologize for anything in your resume/portfolio.
If you feel the need to do so, it probably doesn’t belong
in there in the first place.
4. Never apologize for asking for what you need.
The answer to every question you DON’T ask is always no.
5. Never apologize for asking questions.
 When you stop asking questions,
you don’t just run out of answers you run out of hope.
6. Never apologize for asserting yourself.
The word assert comes from the Latin asserere, which means,
to claim, maintain or affirm. And that’s exactly what you’re entitled to: Your opinion. Your belief. Your say.
Let nobody take it away from you.
7. Never apologize for being a health nut.
Next time someone says, What are you, on a diet or something?
look them straight in the eye and say,
Yeah you got a problem with that?
Then, when they back down, you go right back to eating your tofu.
8. Never apologize for being a newbie.
Every great chess master was once a beginner.
9. Never apologize for being early for an appointment.
In the history of Corporate America, no employee has ever been
fired for consistently arriving ten minutes early to every meeting.
10. Never apologize for being funny.
The world is too damn serious. We need you. Seriously.
11. Never apologize for being human.
Once you do, you’re no longer human, you’re a cyborg.
12. Never apologize for being passionate.
Unless you’re passionate about stabbing strangers with
broken Coke bottles.
13. Never apologize for being smart.
That’s the ONE thing the government, the media
(and every other entity that’s trying to control you)
is terrified of: Smart people who take action. Be one of those people.
14. Never apologize for being the age that you are.
It’s just a number. A chicken ain’t nothing but a bird, as my Grandpa likes to say.
15. Never apologize for breaking a rule that isn’t really a rule.
Be proud of yourself for being a rule breaker.
Then go break another one.
16. Never apologize for calling bullshit on someone.
Especially when nobody else is the room is going to do
it and this person REALLY needs to be taken to task.
17. Never apologize for demanding respect.
If you’ve demonstrated that you deserve respect by giving it to others first, you’re good to go.
18. Never apologize for disagreeing.
Especially if you do so respectfully. On the other hand,
if you’re disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing,
or because of your pathological need to be right,
that’s a different story.
19. Never apologize for expressing yourself.
That’s all “leadership” is:
The full, free expression of your truth.
Don’t say you’re sorry for that.
20. Never apologize for falling in love.
Your heart’s calling the shots.
21. Never apologize for falling OUT of love.
Your heart’s still calling the shots even when you throw up an air ball.
22. Never apologize for getting something off your chest.
That which you suppress will find a home in your body.
And then it will trash the place.
23. Never apologize for giving it your best shot.
As my Grandpa also reminded me,
“You do the best you can with as many as you can.”
24. Never apologize for growing up privileged.
As long as you scrap the entitlement attitude,
remain grateful for everything you’ve ever been given
and respect the life situation of those who are less fortunate, it’s all good.
25. Never apologize for having an overabundance of love in your life.
Instead, circulate what you’ve got. Pay it forward.
Share it. People need it.
26. Never apologize for lack of experience.
Instead, share your Learning Plan; demonstrate
your dedication to lifelong learning and practice
becoming the world’s expert at learning from your experiences.
27. Never apologize for lack of information.
Ignorance is acceptable. Staying ignorant, however, is stupid.
28. Never apologize for liking stupid movies.
Movie snobs annoy me. Some of my favorite movies
are among the most ridiculous films ever made.
So I love Hangover. Sue me.
29. Never apologize for living your truth.
Few things in the world are more important.
30. Never apologize for looking out for yourself.
Self-preservation is a primary driver of human behavior.
 It’s how we’re wired.
31. Never apologize for loving yourself.
If you do, you probably don’t love yourself as much as you thought.
32. Never apologize for making a decision from the heart.
Remember: It’s not thee truth it’s YOUR truth.
33. Never apologize for needing alone time.
Solitude is soil. Solitude is medicine.
And if you don’t get your fix every day, your life will suffer.
34. Never apologize for needing to use the bathroom.
Yesterday a woman in my class walked out of the
room and actually said to the instructor,
I have to pee, I’m SO sorry. Unbelievable.
35. Never apologize for not being there when someone called.
You have a life, too. People can’t expect you to wait eagerly
by the phone all hours of the day.
36. Never apologize for not embracing someone else’s agenda.
Especially if that agenda robs you of your true talent.
37. Never apologize for occasional absentmindedness.
Everyone’s brain farts.

TOP 10 BENEFITS OF INCENSE TO THE MIND AND BODY

Enhances Concentration & Focus
Whether it is while studying or at work, the use of specific incenses enables clear thinking and helps in developing a state of complete awareness. Monks recognized this benefit of incense long ago and use it during their meditation to clear the air as well as their thoughts. Jewelry makers and other workers who require intense concentration also often use incense to help them focus and to switch back and forth between working under the microscope and working away from it.

Stimulates Creativity
Just as a good song or beautiful scenery can inspire the imagination, a pleasing aroma can get the creative juices flowing. The many botanical scents of incense can transport one’s mind away to a tropical island, a rainforest, a mountainous range, or any other earthly heaven. The scents of incense can put one in a dream like state where the imagination can run wild.

Increases Motivation
Incense has long been used by religious and spiritual leaders to purify the air and the soul. Certain incense smoke has antibacterial, fungicidal, and insecticidal properties and, therefore, really does purify the air. It is said that the incense increases positive energy and drives away negative energy. The pure air is like health food for the brain and the body, resulting in an increased motivation and energy level.

Boosts Confidence
With increased focus, creativity, and motivation naturally comes increased confidence. When your body is relaxed and your brain is firing on all cylinders, you’re at your best, and when you’re at your best, you’re at your most confident. Burning incense before a big date, a big test, or a big presentation can really increase your confidence and, therefore, your chances of success.

Incense can increase sexual desire and set the mood between two lovers.
Heightens Sexual Desire
Everyone knows that pheromones are nature’s aphrodisiac, which is why they are used in perfumes to attract the opposite sex. Similarly, by indulging the sense of smell, incense acts as a powerful aphrodisiac. The scents created by incense wet the sexual appetite and increase sexual attraction. Additionally, we’ve already covered that incense can boost confidence and enhance focus, and nothing attracts the opposite sex more than confidence and focus. Therefore, even if one were to use incense by himself and then meet up with his partner elsewhere, his increased confidence and focus will naturally turn his partner on. If a couple uses incense together, the smells will kick in the pheromone effect and they most likely will have a hard time keeping their hands off each other.

Prevents Infections
Many types of incense have antibacterial properties and can be used as a disinfectant to kill germs in the environment. In a recent Chinese study, incense was used to sterilize a hospital ward and was found to be just as effective as more standard means of sterilization such as using steam. By keeping your environment sterile, you can prevent infections and disease. Because many herbs, such as Myrrh, also act as antiseptics, gathering the smoke from certain types of incense and rubbing it over a wound may actually help the wound heal faster since the smoke can kill germs on the wound.

Relieves Headaches
Our sense of smell is a direct path to the brain and certain odors trigger an immediate response via the Limbic System. Particular aromas stimulate the brain to produce essential chemicals, such as serotonin and dopamine, which cause feelings of happiness, relaxation and contentment. For headache relief, certain incense aromas can help open the nasal passages, while others can lower blood pressure.

Fights Depression
In a new study an international team of scientists have discovered how burning frankincense (resin from the Boswellia plant) activates poorly understood ion channels in the brain that alleviate anxiety or depression. Incensole acetate, a Boswellia resin constituent, was administered to mice and found to stimulate TRPV3, a protein which helps reduce anxiety and depression symptoms. The compound significantly affected brain areas known to be involved in emotions as well as in nerve circuits that are affected by current anxiety and depression drugs.

Reduces Anxiety & Tension
The calming effects of incense are well known by Monks and spiritual leaders. Certain incense aromas work to slow down the heart rate and soothe nerves. These calming effects help to relieve built up tension in the muscles, enabling incense to also be used as a muscle relaxer.

Aids Insomnia
As a result of the calming effects of incense, incense can also be used to induce sleep. The sedative properties of incense make it a great natural treatment to aid insomnia.

On Love..

September 6th 2011

A rainy day.
The day before my one year lociverrsary.
The day that is numerically displayed as 09/06/2011.
A Tuesday.
The day where I have one morning class and I work up until 3pm.
Usually.
The day where at midnight I second guess the fact that I am in a relationship.
The day I take a minute or so to sit down with my kittens and play with them.
The day I finally am a bit on track with Plato and his ideal Republic.
At least in my class.
The day before my Math Quiz#1.
The day before Wednesday, September 7th 2011.
23 days before my Birthday.

But most importantly the day I get to be alive...again...

I'm living.
