Does it ever strike a person to give up the very essence of your slavery...all in the selfish cause of another...I'm saying would a person destroy their self ...and be one with nature and positive light all to better huemanity. Would one be the prism of of the Greater Light so that the colors of our rainbow shine bright and true all as one.

Before 3 hours become all about me , I wanna express my thanks and all to the Most High. All is Possible.

Intro to Islam Class: Intro to the Quran as a Text. (Notes on Lecture)

The Prophet Muhammad was an ordinary man. 

The Qur'an unlike and usually is always juxtaposed with the Torah and the Bible. 

The Miracle of Islam. All throughout history , especially the three main religions , Religions were based on miracles. The kind of miracle shapes the people's thoughts of the religion , thus shaping the religion itself. The Qur'an was a miracle in itself. The Qur'an can be engaged with without the help of an official authority. Each hueman reads for their own self. Everyone has the freedom of engaging in the Qur'an.

*The first people to think of such a notion of separating church from state was Hobbs and Espinoza. They called for a radical change and separation between the state and church.*

The validity of the text was concluded by rational thinkers of the community. Any text is an object of interpretation. The Qur'an claims to be its own miracle. The Qur'an is a rational text , so if one is rational then one can read and interpret its text. You can come up with crazy interpretations but keeping in mind that it will not be cohesive with the entirety of the text. Thus we have extremists in any and almost every religion. 

Arabs were well verse at poetry and eloquence. They were of no rationale. They understood the Qur'an because of its "divine" eloquence and proclaimed that the text mist be written by a Higher being. 

Over a period of 23 years , the Prophet Muhammad received the revelations from Allah. This started at 4o years old , approx. 610 A.D. The Qur'an was not revealed chronically. It was not random it contained logic. The Qur'an is an engaging text . Keep in mind the story of Moses and Jesus is mentioned more so than the Prophet Muhammad. Allah , told the Prophet Muhammad these stories so that he can think about his life and how they relate to his life. 

The Meccan Suras ( Sura means "chapter" in Arabic ; the Qur'an is composed of 143 Suras ) had certain aspects. They were more poetic than the Suras in Medina which were more prose like , stylistically.  The Meccan Suras talked more about God and talked about the Prophets in a "grandeur" general theme. The verses in Medina are basically do's and not do's. Medina Suras were more commanding and had directive order.

The Prophet Muhammad commissioned a number of his companion to memorize the Qur'an , they were called the Hafaza. These men learned the Qur'an by heart. By the time the Prophet Muhammad died , the first Caliph asked one of the closest Hafaza to produce the Qur'an.

But today was a GREAT day as every moment I am blessed to live and take up space in this world.I ate brunch , relaxed , hung out for a bit with Antoine and Camesha...had a little reflection. Then I went out with Kia, Jas, and Momz Patrice. I got a dress on clearance along with some clearance socks. I also got 2 pretty widdle plants , some cute clay flower earring posts and herbal homemade soap and he gave me a free bar! I had small talk with all thee vendors. It was a good day [= Ended with caramel dark chocolate toasted coconut and peanut green apple!!!!! *drool* and a vegan wrap with vegetarian chili from Doc Green's.
AHH. Exhaled and now relaxing and gonna ready until 12 am most likely.

Read! Your Lord is the Most Gracious, Who taught by the Pen, taught man what he knew not.- Al-Qur'an 96:3-5. This quote reads on one of the walls of the Islamic Calligraphy & the Qur’an exhibit at the Michael C. Carlos Museum. Mohamed Zakariya demonstrates the skill and proficiency that is necessary to accomplish the fluidity contained inside the Islamic calligraphy. Calligraphy is of no doubt the most admired art form from Islam. The pen tool is usually made out of reeds, bamboo, or etc. The pen must be sharp and shaved to a particular point and angle.

 Mr. Zakariya uses precise movement in the short film showing rhythmic and fluid strokes. Just by watching him create short manuscripts one will feel a sense of tranquility. The calligrapher balances the smooth yet sharp notes in his art form. The Qur’an elevated the status of all books and the art of writing. Every calligrapher has a unique quality of writing and it is connected to the writer’s character and piety.

All the materials used in Islamic calligraphy have a spiritual and special meaning. For the finials on certain pens the turban demonstrates connections between Sufi orders and the Calligrapher. Some scissors were shaped in the shape of an “O O” for O! Opener! ( Ya Fatteh ) this hints towards God’s capacity to open gates and overcome obstacles.

My favorite quotation was “Strive that the fingers of your hand will write what is good” – Ibn Al Bawwab  I took this as work hard and always try your best and when you think you did your best know you can do better than that.
